Poem

Babylon

Deep breath let it out slowly
Knot in my stomach, still feel sick
I know better, shouldn’t feel this way
Want to scream want it to end
It won’t till it’s done

The fear of not knowing
Waiting for the wave, next wave
One of many, take a few minutes
How am I? Gather my strength
Shouldn’t worry I know better

I do though, I rehearse every day
My defenses, I inspect them hourly
Stomach knotted, any time now
I know He is there, I shouldn’t worry
The sun shines He gives a smile

Don’t worry I know better.
