Poem

The Invite

Give me the words to chip away the shell
The beauty within I long to see
Show the crack that will weaken the stone
Let us mend the root to save the tree
All know there is a rich vein of gold
Such a search is put out for thee
What lies untapped a reservoir of love
Unlock the bars, step out be free.

Fear of the needle that cures the pain
Staying in the pit to keep all the same
Courage and answers are a gift to you
The promise of rest and a banquet are true
Take your invitation, it’s there, don’t be silly
Heaven without you is like mother’s day with no Lilly
